Children's Worker
Background:
We believe that the nurture of children and the strengthening of families is an important role for the church. In order to do that, we need to develop settings and programs that will build up families and children, both at church and at home. Children are not only part of the future of the church, they are an important part of the church now. Finding ways to involve children in worship, learning, and fun will nurture them and help develop their gifts for God’s Kingdom.
Currently we have a large number of children, with their families. The parents who have older or grown children are the smaller group in the church. This means that the parents of younger children are called on for many tasks, along with their family responsibilities. While they are willing workers, it is easy for them to become overburdened and eventually burned-out. That is certainly not supportive of them, nor nurturing for their children.
Program Goals:
- Develop programs that will nurture children and youth in their love of God and the church.
- Find ways of involving children and youth in the programs of the church.
